Thanks to Jason Smith from the Jefferson Parish Department of Ecosystem and Coastal Management for sharing the latest news about the parish's Living Shoreline project and for that wonderful walk along the 1,000-foot Bucktown Marina boardwalk. It was a chance to experience Lake Pontchartrain without getting our feet wet, to discover how the parish is working to put residents in touch with the natural world, and to spot birds, turtles, fish, frogs, and LOTS of plants.
