NPI Meeting, Elections, And National Park Service Garden Tour

December 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free

Home to two National Park Service sites and an urban native plant garden, this French Quarter site shows off some of the best of what New Orleans has to offer. Both New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and the French Quarter Visitor Center of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve have exhibits, programs, and offices here, and the courtyard holds a garden that attracts birds, butterflies, and bees. Cheryl Geiger of Secret Garden Landscapes, LLC led the garden installation and will share its story on the tour. The morning’s activities will also include an NPI business meeting and elections (see info about elections below in the Learn & Share section) Note that the meeting site does not open to the public until 9:30 a.m. but that those attending the meeting will be allowed through the courtyard gates early. There is no public parking at this site, but there are plenty of on-street metered parking spaces and pay-to-park lots in the area (Premium Parking Lot 402 is the closest); free parking can be found on Elysian Fields Avenue, about a mile’s walk from the meeting site. As always, everyone is welcome, NPI member or not. Note that only NPI members can vote in elections; to join NPI, follow this link to zeffy.com. To learn more about the elections, see the Grow Natives…and Grow NPI Too section below in Learn & Share. No sign-up, just show up. Free.
